Since 1979, the Julie Valentine Studio has been offering the finest in professional quality performing arts training on the San Francisco Peninsula. Julie Valentine has been a recognized and respected artist and teacher in the San Francisco Bay Area for nearly 30 years. She has performed professionally as a singer and actress in all types of venues from theatre to cabaret. Her work as a director, choreographer and musical director has been seen throughout Northern California. Ms. Valentine has taught master classes, seminars and workshops in both acting and voice. She served on the staff of the Palo Alto Children's Theatre and on the Board of Directors of Palo Alto Players. Ms. Valentine believes in a positive and supportive approach to teaching. Current and former students are working professionally in film, television and on the Broadway stage. Ms. Valentine is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and an Associate of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers. Voice: Ms. Valentine offers private vocal instruction and coaching, specializing in the art of Musical Theatre. Other styles of music include Popular, Rock and Country. Emphasis is placed on proper vocal technique including breathing, placement and articulation; as well as on dramatic interpretation and presentation. Ms. Valentine accepts voice students age 12 and up, both beginning and advanced. Actors, dancers and other "non-singers" are welcome. Acting: Private acting coaching is offered to students who have had some previous expericence - either in class or performance. Private coaching is not recommended for first time students.
